Bell Geospace wins Tender for the Provision of Airborne Geophysical Surveys in Ethiopia

Bell Geospace is delighted to announce that following a tender submission, it has been awarded the contract for the provision of Airborne FTG & Magnetic Surveys in the Gewane-El Wiha Block, Ethiopia (Afar Area) by GPB Ethiopia Resources B.V. (an affiliate of GPB Global Resources).

John Macfarlane, General Manager of Bell Geospace, notes that their unique and proprietary technical process, which allows, among other things, an interim map to be available to GPB Ethiopia Resources B.V. within 24 hours after each interlace, has given the company an added advantage.  “By supplying our client with an interim map of the region flown, we give them the flexibility to identify and prioritize the areas of interest.  In addition, we intend to use our range of Full Tensor processes, which are exclusive to Bell Geospace, to maintain line spacing whilst benefiting from enhanced resolution, and Contact Lineament Processing, also a proprietary technique, which facilitates mapping of intrasedimentary structures not possible with conventional techniques”.

The survey will begin in January 2015, and Bell Geospace expects that the complete dataset will be available to GPB Ethiopia Resources B.V. within 28 days of acquisition.

Bell Geospace is the world leader in Gravity Gradiometry™ with offices in Houston, Edinburgh and Kuala Lumpur. Its  long experience acquiring Air-FTG data, combined with Basler Turbo 67 aircraft delivers extreme resolution Gravity Gradiometry™ data, capable of resolving subsurface geological features of less than 100 metres.  Bell Geospace data provides shape, form and dimension to the target body, ensuring pre or post ground-based geophysics acquisition is optimised by adding clarity, insight and direction to the corroborative technologies, significantly shortening acquisition time, and maximising ROI.  Bell Geospace will deliver processed data 4-6 weeks after acquisition, with interim images in 24 hours, enabling fast, knowledge-based decision-making.
